Lake Dillon Fire Protection District opens nomination period

The nomination period for seats on the Lake Dillon Fire Protection District Board of Directors has opened for the May 4, 2010, special-district election.

Colorado voters who are residents of the district, or who own taxable property in the district, or who are obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase property are eligible to run for the three open seats on the five-person board.

The seats held by incumbent directors Tom Hill, David Zaitz and Jerry Peterson are up for election.

Eligible candidates interested in a four-year unpaid board position would need to pick up a self-nomination form at the fire district’s Administrative Offices at 401 Blue River Parkway in Silverthorne, between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. on weekdays.

The nomination period runs from Feb. 3-26, and all nominations must be received by      5 P.M. on Feb. 26.
